Genesis 1-3: Hermeneutics
Genesis 1-3: Approaches
These two preaches were part of our response to the 150th aniversary of Darwin.
The first helps us to take a fresh look at how we could approach the first three
chapters of Genesis from a clearly evangelical and Bible believing standpoint.
The second sets out in note form, a number of 'positions' that Bible believing
Christians have taken over the last century
Matthew 7:15-23: Warnings
about False Prophets
In these times, we are warned that many "false Christs" will appear.
These two preaches were given as guidenotes to try to find the right way to
judge the claims and phenomina that sweep through the church from time to time,
using the clear principles that are set out for us in the scripture. We need
not to fear movements of the Spirit, which clearly have a wonderful effect upon
us, but we are to exercise good Biblical judgement - this is a command of scripture,
and will keep us safe.
1 Samuel 15: Read through the Bible
The church has been taking part in a "Read through the Bible together"
exercise. As we have read through 1Samuel together, some difficult to understand
passages have been encountered. In a recent Message, Greg Hall looked at one
such passage in 1 Samuel 15.
